Turn a business need into acceptance criteria, build a scoring web app with the Replit Agent, test the arithmetic, ties and mobile layout by hand, then publish after a single targeted fix.
Replit is a browser-based development environment offering an AI assistant, a code editor, a runtime, a live preview and publishing in one place. In this exercise you build ÖtletPont, a genuinely working web app, for the fictional NovaLab Community Workshop. The app scores three project ideas against four criteria, totals them automatically, highlights the strongest idea, handles ties correctly, keeps changes in the browser, and works on mobile. This is not about producing a good-looking page: you translate a business need into requirements, write a precise build prompt, test with real user actions, write a bug report, request a single targeted fix, examine what changed in the code, then publish and verify on a public link. Fast AI generation does not replace a good specification, testing and human judgement.
In this exercise you learn: how to write a product brief and verifiable acceptance criteria (instead of "make it good"); the seven parts of a good build prompt, including what the AI must not build; how to run a smoke test, then manual arithmetic, tie, input-limit, localStorage and mobile checks; how to write a reproducible bug report; why to fix one fault at a time and how to spot a regression; why the Agent's "done" message is not evidence; and what the privacy benefit and the limits of localStorage are.
Warning: Cost protection: Replit's plans, credit allowances and interface can change. As of the September 2026 documentation, the Starter plan offers a daily Agent allowance, Lite build and one free published project. A free published app may stop after 30 days but can be republished. If the interface asks for a payment method or a plan change, stop and close the window.
Warning: If a checkpoint fails, stop. Do not request another large rework until you can state precisely what the fault is and what the expected behaviour would be.
