Compare three AI presentation tools, verify the sources, then build an evidence-based recommendation.
Perplexity is an AI-powered search and answer tool: it finds information on the internet, summarizes several sources and places citations in the answer — with the citations you can open and verify the original sources. In this exercise you compare three AI presentation tools (one of them must be Gamma) and answer this question: which is the best choice for a non-technical beginner who wants to create a Hungarian, eight-slide presentation, preferably for free? The most important rule: a citation alone does not prove a claim — you must also open the link and verify it.
In this exercise you will learn: how to use Perplexity for current research; how to write a precise research question; how to separate fact, opinion and AI conclusion; how to verify sources; how to recognize official websites; how to check the freshness of information; how to find conflicting data; how to handle unverifiable claims; how to build a comparison table from several sources; and how to build a source-backed recommendation.
Suggested schedule: research question and tool selection: 15-20 minutes; comparison based on official sources: 30-40 minutes; verifying at least six claims and filling the source log: 30-40 minutes; independent sources, contradictions and scoring: 25-35 minutes; final recommendation, screenshots and reflection: 20-45 minutes. The required exercise can be done in two sessions; the optional bonus tasks are not part of this time frame.
Important: Perplexity's free Standard plan currently includes practically unlimited basic searches, a limited number of Pro Search uses and limited file uploads. For free users, the system picks the model used for the question — that is why the required parts of the exercise can be done in the default Best mode. The exact daily and monthly limits can change, so always check the current plan comparison. Perplexity features and plan information were last verified on 4 August 2026.
Tip: The motto of this exercise: SEARCH. VERIFY. WEIGH. DECIDE. — the four stages of the flow: 01 QUESTION (goal and criterion) → 02 SOURCE (official and independent) → 03 VERIFICATION (claim and evidence) → 04 DECISION (scoring and recommendation).
By the end of the exercise you will have: a Perplexity research; a comparison table of three AI presentation tools; at least six verified claims; a source-verification log; a short evidence-based recommendation; two screenshots (one of the citations, one of an opened official source); and a short reflection on the research process.
