Plan a storyboard, then generate four short clips: measure in a controlled experiment how much a reference image improves product consistency, and assemble the 12-second advert in Scenebuilder.
Google Flow is an AI creative studio where images, video clips, references and scenes live in one project. In this exercise you produce a roughly 12-second, three-scene mini-advert for MentaMug, an entirely fictional reusable travel mug. You do more than generate video: you build a storyboard first, define the visual constants, compare text-only generation with reference-image generation, then arrange the chosen clips in sequence in Scenebuilder. The central experiment is controlled: between the V1 and V2 product scenes only the use of the reference image (the ingredient) changes, so its effect on visual consistency can be measured. A good AI video is not the result of one lucky prompt: it comes from planning, consistent references, controlled experimentation and human quality review.
In this exercise you learn: how an idea becomes a three-shot visual story; what makes a video prompt precise and cinematic (aspect ratio, subject, action, setting, camera, lighting, sound, exclusions); how consistent the same product stays across several generations; how to measure a reference image's effect by changing only one variable at a time; which faults a human must catch frame by frame before publishing; how to manage AI credits deliberately; and what copyright, privacy and deception risks generative video carries.
Warning: Access: using Google Flow can depend on your account, region, age and organisational settings. If your account is not eligible, do not circumvent the restriction and do not use a VPN. Complete the storyboard, prompt and analysis parts, then ask your instructor for a shared demonstration or sample clips.
Warning: If a checkpoint fails, stop. Before spending credits, always check the model, the resolution, the duration and the number of outputs.
